January 30, 2012 Just a reminder! Our auditions are TOMORROW and THIS THURSDAY in the TAC in Practice Room 3. Tuesday auditions are from 8-10 and Thursday auditions are from 7-9. Please come prepared with a verse and chorus of any song you choose. We're so excited to hear y'all show us your stuff!! As always, check our Facebook, Twitter, and the Facebook Event for more info! January 21st, 2012 Hey, guys! Sorry we've been gone for so long! Between the end of the semester, finals, and crazy gigs, we got caught up! BUT we're so happy to get back in action and begin the spring semester! We're excited to show you guys new arrangements and even better...we're having our spring auditions! If you're interested in auditioning to become a member of the Pipettes, come to the Tabler Arts Center, Practice Room 3, on Tuesday, January 31st, 8-10 pm and Thursday, February 2nd, 7-9 pm. Come prepared with one verse and chorus of any song of your choosing! Per usual, keep in touch with us through our Facebook, our brand new Twitter, and feel free to email us with any questions! Can't wait to see everyone at auditions! Also, it is with great sadness that we have to see some of our senior members leave us this semester. Thank you, Jess Steve, Jackie Farquharson, and Julia Clunn for your many years devoted to the Pipettes. We'll miss you! Last but not least, look forward to many changes and updates to our website! As we start the spring, we start spring cleaning as well and are planning on reorganizing! Keep checking here for updates! October 27th, 2011 Some good news and some bad news folks. First the bad; due to silly Mother Nature and her inability to plan around our schedule, the Student Life Tailgate on Saturday is cancelled because of the forecasted rain! We are disappointed, but even more sad for the football players who are still on for their game that evening. We can always sing under umbrellas, but I think that would make tackling a little difficult. But onto the good news! Firstly, our favorite boys of the High C's will also be performing at the CASB Singing Contest tonight! What? You don't know about CASB? Well obviously this means you need to come tonight at 7pm to the SAC Auditorium...the vocals will not disappoint! And secondly, you might be hearing us singing on SBU's radio station, WUSB 90.1 FM, in the very near future! Keep an eye here and an ear to the radio to find out more soon!
October 19th, 2011 Well we ladies are already gearing up for this semester with gigs, new music, and lots of glamour! (naturally) First off, next Thursday the 27th at 7pm, we will be performing at the CASB Singing Contest in the SAC Auditorium. The Chinese Association at Stony Brook has gathered some of the best singers around, and we'll be there to help open the show and put everyone into the mood for a night of great musical talent! Right after that, on Saturday the 29th, we've been asked to help entertain at the Student Life Council Tailgate! Come see us sing at 1pm in the Stadium Parking Lot, then head into the stadium to see our football team take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers! (CC may have the french word for "sing" in their mascot's name, but we'll be rooting for our Seawolves!) And on Thursday, November 3rd at 7:30, the Sigma Beta Honor Society is hosting a Talent Show in the Union Auditorium...and you should definitely come see what we have in store! October 7th, 2011 Well auditions are finally over... After dozens of try-outs, lots of "melding exercises" and plenty of deliberation, we finally have added some gorgeous new voices into the Pipettes family! Congratulations to Emily, Regina, Stella, Christina and Hillary! You all seriously wow-ed us and were super impressive (not only with your singing but also your ability to handle being with such a crazy group of ladies). Well done and let's get to learning some music!
September 10th, 2011 So it is currently 1:54 in the morning, and ALL I can think about is how excited I am for this month! What kind of awesome, insomnia-inducing plans do we have, you may be asking? Well let's see: Firstly, you can come meet us and see why it joining the Pipettes is the best decision you can make while attending SBU at the Fall Involvement Fair this Wednesday the 14th during campus life-time (that's 12:40-2:10 in non-SB lingo). Come find us in the SAC ballrooms and see why Pipettes = amazing. Secondly, you can actually JOIN our group by coming to our auditions this month! On Tuesday the 20th from 8-10pm and Thursday the 22nd from 7-9pm, you can find us in practice room #3 in the Tabler Arts Center. Bring your voice, a song to sing, and possibly a beat to box (if you of the adventurous and crazy-cool variety..which I hope you are!) Lastly, we are scheduled to perform at the 2nd annual Seawolf-Fest on Friday the 23rd of this month! It's the perfect way to kick off a new year and sports season; gathering on the Staller steps to see your favorite SB groups in action. And you can bet we'll bring our singing A-game (and possibly be sporting our sexy, new Pipettes t-shirts!) ...WHEW that's a lot! It's a busy start to a great semester, and there's more to come soon!
